So why a blog? Why now?

Well; I’ve always written, be it for websites or magazines, and always been a content creator — music and video predominantly. Neither have been notably remarkable, but I’ve done okay, especially if you’re grading on the curve.

Anyway, I’m going through a bit of a career transition, or progression, and have decided to also focus on my personal brand, especially as I look to do some media related talks in the coming year and step into a role with more responsibility and potential influence than ever before.

This has actually caused a bit of an internal turmoil and up late thoughts. I’ve always been one to keep my creative and online persona, and my day to day “career” persona separate. Let me let you in on a little secret; “Ski” isn’t even my last name, it’s a shortened version (I’m of Polish heritage, ’nuff said) that’s become a nick name, but it certainly isn’t what is written on my business cards.

Honestly at this point I don’t really know how to marry the two worlds; but blogging about media and other career based topics, while also including some of my created content, and linking both to my social media “Mike Ski” accounts¬†and my LinkedIn profile, seems like a start.

A very scary mild anxiety inducing start, but a start none the less.
